If I need a dental procedure but don't have the cash to cover it, are financing options available?
Our office definitely offers financing options to help you pay for any needed dental procedures. One of the main financing options we have is Care Credit. It’s an outside third-party financing option that helps you potentially pay for your dental treatment. You usually need to go online and download an app from the App Store if you have Apple or the Google Play Store if you have Android, and then you apply for this financing through the app. They will ask a bunch of questions, submit a credit check, and then let you know if you get approved for the financing. Another option we have is Cherry. It operates similarly to Care Credit but has lower restrictions, making it easier for many people to qualify.
Will I have to pay for my dental procedure up front?
Whether you need to pay for a procedure up front often depends on whether you have insurance to help you. Usually, even with insurance, there is often a co-pay. If you don’t have dental insurance, we try our best to work with you to make your dental treatment affordable. Third-party financing options often come into play in these situations, helping you afford the treatment you need.
What dental financing options are available at Crown Dentistry and how do they work?
One of the main financing options we offer is Care Credit. It’s a third-party financing option that provides funds or a loan so you can get the dental treatment you need. They usually offer both interest-free and interest-bearing options. If you can pay off the balance within a specified period, such as 12 months, the amount borrowed can be interest-free. Essentially, it works like a credit card with 0% interest for a certain period. Another option we offer is Cherry, which operates similarly to Care Credit but with a softer credit check and potentially easier qualification criteria. Both options require a credit check, but Cherry is typically less stringent. If you have dental insurance, it can cover a portion or sometimes the entire cost of procedures, though often there is a co-pay.
Does dental insurance typically cover the cost of most dental procedures?
This question can be complicated, as it depends on a couple of factors. First, it depends on the procedure being performed. Some procedures are covered at a higher rate than others. For example, cleanings, exams, and x-rays are typically covered at a much higher rate, sometimes completely, by dental insurance. More complex procedures, such as fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and implants, may be partially covered by dental insurance, but generally, the entire cost of these procedures is not covered. Additionally, the extent of coverage depends on the type of insurance you have. Not all insurances are created equal; some are better than others, covering more procedures and offering higher reimbursement rates. It’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all situation, so it largely depends on a patient's individual circumstances. However, all of this information can be obtained, and our staff is here to help you navigate this process.
How can I find out if my insurance will cover the cost of my dental procedure?
Often, either you or our staff will need to contact the insurance provider directly to find out what your specific benefits are. Sometimes we can receive an email or a fax detailing your coverage, while other times we need to call directly and speak to a representative. This process depends on the individual patient's insurance and must be determined on a case-by-case basis.
If my insurance will only partially cover the cost of my dental procedure, can financing options help me pay for the rest?
As mentioned earlier, sometimes insurance will not cover the entire cost of a procedure. If there is a copay, we can work with you to see if a third-party financing option is available to help you cover the remaining cost of the dental procedure.
